Systems/FPGA Team Lead

Up to 180,000 USD + Bonus + Comprehensive Benefits

We are working exclusively with a cutting-edge proprietary trading firm aiming to grow its FPGA Engineering team as part of its global expansion. Operating across major exchanges, the firm trades a wide array of asset classes, including equities, options, futures, and derivatives, using both High-Frequency Trading (HFT) and Medium-Frequency Trading (MFT) strategies. With a fully remote workforce of over 200 professionals spread from the US to Asia, the firm fosters a tech-centric environment.

The firm is seeking a Senior FPGA Engineer to lead a compact, high-caliber FPGA team. Reporting to a Head of Engineering, you will drive the design and integration of software and third-party FPGA IP cores. As a hands-on leader, you’ll guide a team of up to 4 engineers, ensure technical alignment with organizational objectives, and support the recruitment and mentoring of top talent.

Your role will center on developing FPGA-based solutions for ultra-low-latency trading systems, emphasizing hardware/software co-design to maximize performance and reliability. This position is fully remote, open to global candidates, and offers flexible contract options (B2B preferred, with EOR available).

Key Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of FPGA development experience.

  • Expertise in Verilog, System Verilog, VHDL, or HLS.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead small engineering teams (up to 4 members).

  • Deep knowledge of hardware/software co-design and third-party IP core integration.

  • Proficiency with FPGA testing tools and methodologies.

  • Experience with large-scale PLDs (100K+ LEs) and hardware development cycles.

  • Fluent or advanced English with strong collaboration skills.

  • Management experience/Team leadership

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience in trading or financial systems.

  • Familiarity with C/C++ or Python scripting.

  • Contributions to FPGA or related open-source initiatives.

Hiring Process:

  • Initial discussion with Talent Team.

  • Technical evaluation (FPGA coding or project deep-dive).

  • Final stage interview.

Why Join?

This is a rare chance to collaborate with world-class professionals from top-tier firms in a dynamic, bureaucracy-free setting. You will join a team with alumni in senior leadership positions from Tower Research Capital, DRW and other top firms.

The firm offers exceptional opportunities for career development, a fully remote and flexible work environment, and benefits including health, wellness, and professional training support. If you’re driven by FPGA innovation and high-performance technology, contact us for more details!
