Equitix Management Services provides SPV management services throughout the infrastructure and PPP industry, bringing experience across a wide range of infrastructure sectors including education, healthcare and renewables.

The role

This role would be suited to either a graduate with a technical/commercial/facilities management focus or a person seeking to progress into operational infrastructure management services and looking for a new challenge. 


Our projects cover a wide geographical area within Scotland and we welcome candidates from any location with site visits occasionally required.  


We are seeking to appoint an individual who can exhibit the experience and qualities listed below:


• Awareness of PFI and infrastructure management. 

• An understanding of the management of PFI projects in the operational phase. 

• Professional and able to understand expected conduct and ethics. 

Ability to understand and put into practice complex contractual documents. 

• Confident and capable of operating in a Client facing environment. 

• Strong communication, organisation and planning skills. 

• Ability to prioritise and manage competing workloads and able to meet strict deadlines. 

• Flexible, resilient and motivated. 

• High level of attention to detail. 

• Ability to work with people at all levels and from all backgrounds. 

• Reliable transportation is required. 


Principle Responsibilities:


General

  • Provide general management, operations management & compliance management and policy implementation to Project Co. 
  • Seek to always act in the best interests of the Project Co in dealings with the Client, the Sub-Contractors, Service Providers, and advisors. 
  • Attend meetings upon reasonable notice (as reasonably requested by the Shareholders, Project Co, or the Client) related to the provision of the Project. 
  • Develop and maintain a "good working knowledge" of the Project Documents. 
  • Attend any good faith discussions between the project parties to mitigate or resolve potential disputes. 


Operations Management

  • Undertake regular monitoring and reporting of operations and maintenance activities including reactive maintenance works, based upon information provided by the Sub-Contractors or Service Providers,  
  • Use reasonable endeavours to ensure compliance with, and to manage Project Co's obligations under the Project Documents. 
  • Arrange, review, and maintain the operational insurances, including insurance reinstatement valuations. 
  • Review and challenge the lifecycle planning and asset management proposals received from the Facilities Management Contractor. 
  • Lead on the management, agreement, reporting and delivery of Project variations. 
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with all project parties including, board members, service providers, Funders / Funder Representatives including Technical Advisor. 


Management of Project Obligations

  • Manage the performance of or perform (including to the extent not passed down to any Sub-Contractor or any other party) all those obligations required to be undertaken by the Project Companies under the Project Documents and ensure that same are performed in a timely manner including having regard to any applicable timescales in the Project Documents. 
  • Monitor performance and compliance of the Sub-Contractors or Service Providers under the Sub-Contracts. 
  • Receive and review monthly performance reports from the Sub­ Contractors / Service Providers; prepare the required reports for the Client in support of the monthly invoice; attend progress meetings with the Sub-Contractors/ Service Providers and Client and manage any shortfalls in performance. 
  • Prepare, review and issue to an appropriate standard all notices, reports, documents, and other information required to be provided by the Project Companies. 
  • Manage Interface issues between sub-contractors. 
  • Manage satisfactory resolution of any defect issues. 


Commercial Support

  • Provide commercial support to Project Co in relation to matters arising in the ordinary course of Project Co's business, including interpretation of the payment mechanism, evaluating deductions and performance against Performance Standards. 
  • Where directed, the management and coordination/ negotiation of legal/ commercial workstreams. 
  • Prepare and provide to each Shareholder the following reports: 
  • The reports referred to in the Shareholders' Agreement within the timescale set out therein; 
  • Information required by Project Co pursuant to the Credit Agreement or other Finance Documents as far as it relates to Operations ; 
  • Such further information as any Shareholder may, from time to time, reasonably require relating to the business, affairs, and financial position of Project Co as far as matters relate to Operations. 
  • In each case as soon as reasonably practicable after its preparation and within the applicable timescales. 
  • Liaise with the finance team to ensure financial and company secretarial obligations are met. 


Compliance Management Services

  • Undertake regular (monthly) site-based review of Statutory and non-Statutory maintenance obligations with Service Providers and report accordingly. 
  • Procure any ad hoc compliance management services on behalf of Project Co. 
  • Provide compliance management services to Project Co which shall include Management Review if requested. 
  • Develop awareness and knowledge based working practices 
  • where specific technical standards/ operational practices are relevant to projects/sectors. 


Additional Ad hoc duties

Carry out such additional duties as may be required by EMS from time to time.
