COMPANY OVERVIEW:
Qnostics' core business is focused on the design, development, manufacture and supply of specialised molecular Quality Control products for the use in the in vitro diagnostic industry. Based in Glasgow, Qnostics also works with organisations around the world to provide bespoke solutions within an ISO 13485 complaint framework.
JOB SUMMARY:
Following established processes and procedures the main role of the manufacturing technician will be to support the production of biological reagents / controls used by hospital laboratories, universities, and commercial companies worldwide. This requires working as part of a team in a controlled laboratory manufacturing environment and wearing the designated Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while carrying out laboratory manufacturing duties.
KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
The manufacturing technician role will cover the following ‘core' manufacturing activities:
- Preparation of Production documentation (e.g. Manufacturing batch records, etc)
- Processing of working stocks and biological matrices
- Dispensing and Capping of product
- Labelling and assembly of product
- Maintenance of laboratory equipment (where appropriate and responsibility is assigned)
- Monitoring of working environments (e.g. temperature monitoring & recording)
- Support the routine cleaning and general maintenance of the manufacturing / operations facilities.
The manufacturing technician will be responsible for:
- Adhering to policies and procedures in order to ensure the timely delivery of product / projects in line with the company's quality management system (and the relevant requirements of ISO13485).
- Keeping accurate records of tasks performed in line with the operational / manufacturing procedures
- Delivering on assigned tasked within agreed timeframe and to the appropriate quality standard
- Assisting the Production Supervisor and Operations teams in the trouble shooting of processes, procedures, and product issues in line with the quality events process.
- Assisting the Production Supervisor and Operations teams in identify potential areas for improvement and recommending these to Qnostics Management.
OTHER ACTIVITIES:
- Providing support to other Qnostics operations departments (e.g. stock, logistics) as and when required.
- Assisting in the training of other manufacturing team members (Where defined as a competent leader for a specific manufacturing activity / task).
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE: (suitable for new graduates)
- Qualification in a Life Science discipline (degree/HND/HNC)
- Understanding in aseptic techniques
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Strong attention to detail
- Computer literate, good communicator and team player
Preferred but not essential
- Experience of working in a GLP environment within the IVD industry
- Previous experience working in a controlled manufacturing setting preferably to/in line with ISO13485 or equivalent
- Prior use and adherence to Standard Operating Procedures
- Knowledge of laboratory Health and Safety processes.
- Experience of working with chemicals and/or hazardous materials
Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contractContract length: 12 months
