We are seeking a Senior Project Manager with extensive EPC substation experience and strong P&L accountability. In this role, you will own financial performance, contract strategy, Project Delivery, and overall project leadership. You will lead multidisciplinary teams through the full project lifecycle, ensuring the successful delivery of high-profile substations and electrical infrastructure projects across the UK.
As a Senior Project Manager, you will be at the forefront of Linxon’s major infrastructure projects, guiding teams through strategic planning, commercial management, design development, and execution.
What will you do?
- Ensure high safety standards for safe and timely project delivery, site mobilisation, and meeting critical project milestones.
- Lead and manage multidisciplinary teams of Project Managers, Project team Leaders, and Project Supervisors throughout the project lifecycle.
- Take full P&L responsibility, ensuring projects are delivered within budget while optimizing financial performance.
- Manage project revenue and budget, track costs, and ensure profitability while meeting safety and quality standards.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for tender preparation, providing support and guidance throughout the process.
- Drive early-stage project development, including engineering studies, environmental considerations, and strategic design decisions.
- Develop, approve, and oversee contract awards in compliance with procurement regulations and best practices.
- Provide construction execution strategies, ensuring adherence to schedule, safety, and quality standards.
- Manage subcontractor relationships, ensuring compliance with NEC/FIDIC contracts, safety regulations, and CDM requirements.
- Engage stakeholders by collaborating with clients, suppliers, regulatory bodies, and internal teams to align project execution with business goals.
- Track progress to ensure timely delivery and resolve delays promptly.
- Oversee engineering processes to ensure alignment with project objectives.
- Coordinate procurement to maintain timely delivery of materials and services.
- Maintain active site presence during construction, commissioning, and energisation phases, ensuring quality and safety standards.
- Oversee project final delivery and handover, ensuring full compliance and client satisfaction.
Experience Required:
- Extensive experience leading complex EPC substation projects, with a focus on financial oversight and delivery strategy.
- Relevant years of project management experience.
- Proven P&L management skills, ensuring profitability within project constraints.
- Experience managing multidisciplinary teams from inception to completion.
- Strong contract negotiation, procurement management, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Proficiency in managing budgets and controlling costs to deliver projects on time and within budget.
- Knowledge of CDM regulations, NEC/FIDIC contracts, and environmental compliance.
- Understanding of engineering procurement and construction processes, and managing delivery schedules.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience with project management software tools and methodologies specific to electrical substations.
- Experience in risk mitigation and opportunity management.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- PMP or equivalent certification preferred.
