Our client is a global professional services business with an established brand dating back over 50 years. With continued growth they are looking to add a skilled Network Engineer to their team. This role will suit someone able to work in Glasgow 2 days per week.


This role is critical to maintaining the stability and efficiency of backend IT systems and network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will deliver hands-on 3rd line support while actively contributing to the deployment of new systems and technologies.


Responsibilities



  • Oversee the global network infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and reliability.

  • Provide expert-level (3rd line) support for all aspects of the network infrastructure.

  • Address and resolve network-related incidents and requests through the ticketing system in a timely manner.

  • Support and enhance WAN and LAN systems, ensuring high availability and performance.

  • Maintain compliance with network security standards and implement necessary controls.

  • Coordinate with third-party vendors to perform root cause analysis and resolve complex issues.

  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including support guides and implementation plans.

  • Work closely with globally distributed teams to ensure consistent service delivery.

  • Ensure all operations align with internal policies and external regulatory requirements.


What we are looking for



  • Extensive experience in designing and implementing multi-site LAN/ WAN infrastructures.

  • Expertise in Cisco switching technologies, including Cisco Nexus 3K and 9K series.

  • Proficient in routing protocols such as BGP, EIGRP, and OSPF.

  • Strong background in wireless networking, with hands-on experience using HP Aruba solutions.

  • Demonstrated proficiency with leading firewall platforms and technologies.

  • Solid understanding of network security principles and best practices.

  • Skilled in managing MPLS and VPN network environments.

  • Effective communicator with a proven ability to coordinate with third-party vendors for troubleshooting and issue resolution.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of traffic management technologies.
