Transport Scotland is looking for a Digital Travel Data Delivery Manager to join their smart and integrated ticketing team. This role involves managing travel data, technology, and information services contracts and projects along with leading developments and improvements for travel data in Scotland. The manager will work with Traveline Scotland, public transport operators, Local Transport Authorities, Regional Transport Partnerships, and suppliers to ensure Scotland's travel data systems are effective and future ready.
The position is part of the Smart and Integrated Ticketing (SIT) and Payment Programme, which aims to modernize ticketing and payment services and improve public transport information. The goal is to increase the use of sustainable public transport, reduce carbon emissions, and support climate action.
Responsibilities
You will manage complex digital, technical, and IT data management platform services, reporting to the C1 Smart Systems Advisor within the Smart Ticketing Programme team at Transport Scotland. Your main responsibilities include:
Practitioner-level ability in Agile and Lean practices.

An understanding at foundation level of the ITIL framework would also be desirable

Working Pattern

Responsibilities
You will manage complex digital, technical, and IT data management platform services, reporting to the C1 Smart Systems Advisor within the Smart Ticketing Programme team at Transport Scotland. Your main responsibilities include:
- Commercial management of digital and data services to provide travel data systems, website, and app-based travel planning services.
- Ensuring robust, open travel information for public transport and active travel across Scotland via a 'one true source'.
- Working closely with Traveline Scotland, the Managed Service Supplier, to support delivery of the national digital travel data services (DTDS) contract.
- Overseeing delivery of both the DTDS contract and managed service supplier contracts, ensuring all contractual and business-as-usual governance activities are managed.
- Supporting the SIT programme to identify and deliver improvements in digital travel data, including standards, schemas, quality, and processing enhancements.
- Assisting with the development of open travel data policy.
- Continuous Development: Maintain and enhance knowledge of UK transport data standards (e.g., SIRI, TransXchange, NeTex) to improve travel data provision.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with experts and stakeholders to identify and implement improvements in travel data, advising on impacts and implications.
- Liaison and Representation: Work with local authorities, regional partnerships, operators, and internal stakeholders to support travel data projects and represent Transport Scotland in UK data bodies.
- Benefits Realisation: Ensure contract service levels and KPIs are met, manage service credits, and address underperformance and compliance issues.
- Change Management: Implement change management protocols and ensure governance and procurement reporting are delivered as required.
- Support SIT Programme: Develop enhanced travel data to meet government strategies, working with various stakeholders and policy leads.
