About the Role:


As the Programme Manager, you'll play a key role in overseeing a portfolio of complex projects that support the delivery of a large-scale capital investment programme. This is a strategic and delivery-focused role where you will shape how technology projects are delivered, governed, and supported across multiple operational teams.


Working as part of Sword's consulting team, you will bring structure and clarity to fast-paced programmes, helping define delivery frameworks, lead cross-functional teams, and ensure the smooth execution of IT and OT workstreams. This role offers a unique opportunity to help shape operating models, define how demand is managed, and ensure consistent programme delivery across digital and technology functions.


As the Programme Manager, you'll be responsible for:


  • Managing a portfolio of IT and OT projects varying in size and complexity.
  • Creating and maintaining detailed programme schedules and work plans.
  • Assembling and leading multidisciplinary teams to meet programme objectives.
  • Designing and embedding an operating model to govern project documentation, actions, risks, and issues.
  • Tracking progress, costs, and milestones while maintaining alignment with overall programme goals.
  • Providing high-quality reporting and insights to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensuring deliverables meet quality and compliance standards.
  • Identifying and mitigating delivery risks with structured risk management plans.
  • Facilitating workshops with technical, business, and operational stakeholders.
  • Supporting operational service models to ensure project outputs transition effectively into business-as-usual environments.


What You'll Bring


  • Strong programme and project management experience across IT and/or OT environments.
  • A clear understanding of digital and operational technology lifecycles.
  • Experience in defining and implementing governance models in complex programmes.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to engage and influence at all levels.
  • Experience working across multidisciplinary teams with varied priorities.
  • A proactive, delivery-focused mindset with a strong attention to detail.
