Wilkinson and Associates are pleased to partner with one of our top clients in recruiting a German Credit Controller on a permanent basis.


The successful candidate will manage a portfolio of clients, applying collection activities in line with current processes to ensure timely invoice payments. This role requires excellent communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to resolve client disputes and stakeholder queries effectively. The credit controller should demonstrate strong communication skills at all levels, regularly review their portfolio with regional partners, and collaborate with internal teams to resolve challenges and enhance customer experience.

Key Duties:

  • Manage a portfolio of client accounts to ensure prompt payments

  • Prioritize communication through all available channels, especially telephone contact

  • Build relationships with key stakeholders to facilitate query resolution and payments

  • Provide a best-in-class client experience

  • Achieve monthly aged debt, cash collection, and DSO targets

  • Produce monthly customer statements

  • Collaborate with Sales Ledger, Placement Support, and Billing to maintain accurate customer records, including payment allocation, management, and credit notes

  • Participate in regular ledger reviews with the Credit Control Manager/Team Leader

  • Escalate accounts to Legal or Trade Debt Partners when appropriate

  • Maintain accurate records in SAP

  • Support the Credit Control Team Lead with ad hoc initiatives


Knowledge & Experience:

  • Fluent German language skills

  • Experience in finance or collections, preferably in a B2B environment

  • Understanding of credit risk principles

  • Experience managing high-volume ledgers

  • Knowledge of SAP (desirable)

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

  • Ability to analyze data and make confident decisions

  • Strong negotiation skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)

  • Self-motivated, disciplined, detail-oriented, with the ability to work independently
