Job Summary
The role of the Military Training Element(Clyde) (MTE(Clyde)) Armourer is an essential position within the organisation that facilitates operational training. In addition to the basic Small Arms Maintainer Course to carry out maintenance on weapons, a range of additional tasks are covered within the role including Dismounted Close Combat Training custodian, secondary Range Warden, building Health & Safety Officer, IT Authorised Demander and Section Transport Manager.
In additional to the technical skills required for the role, good interpersonal skills are essential in this people facing role and to build key relationships both within the base and externally. The post holder will work directly by the Officer in Charge of the centre to ensure weapons are safe to be used for training, and alongside the Range Warden to provide a safe environment to train in.
This position is advertised at 37 hours per week
Job Description
Specific responsibilities will include:
Managing and maintaining HMS NEPTUNE weapon holdings and carrying out repairs as necessary. Conducting building Health & Safety tasks and Unit administration to facilitate the operational output of the Unit.
Key Relationships:
Working within MTE Clyde under the Warfare Support Training Group (WSTG) as a lodger Unit, with close interaction with all major units on the site including Royal Navy, Royal Marines, Ministry of Defence Police and other local stakeholders.

To Be Considered For This Role You Will Have:
- Completed the S719H Small Arms Maintainer Course and be a fully qualified Small Arms Maintainer/Armourer with an in-depth knowledge of weapon maintenance and repair to include policies and procedures contained within the Army Equipment Support Publications (AESPs).
- Be computer literate and able to use basic computer programmes such as Word, Outlook, Excel and PDF to aid working practices.
- Excellent skills in verbal and written communication.
