Description

We are seeking a talented Cloud Operations Manager to lead our Cloud Operations team. This team is responsible for deploying and maintaining the underlying infrastructure that supports our SaaS offering to our customers and internal stakeholders.

As the manager of a team of experienced engineers, you will be a compassionate and empathetic leader, who seeks to bring out the best in their team – being responsible for their ongoing development and the development of the wider function. You will have a voice in strategic decision-making as related to our SaaS offering to clients, and a key senior technical voice in discussions around architecture and support.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as a hands-on technical expert, drawing from extensive experience within infrastructure teams, particularly in a senior capacity.
• Demonstrate proficiency in mentoring and line management, guiding staff members to excel in their roles.
• Cultivate robust working relationships across various business units, external cloud providers, and colleagues within the broader Infrastructure & Support function.
• Possess in-depth expertise in Azure, with a focus on leveraging its functionalities effectively.
• Utilize key tools such as HaloITSM, Terraform, Azure DevOps, and Git on a daily basis, ensuring seamless operation and integration within the infrastructure.
• Allocate time effectively between operational tasks supporting existing customers, development endeavors aimed at enhancing automation and tooling for deploying and maintaining customer platforms, and overseeing a small team of engineers.
  
  
  

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Required:

• Minimum 3 years experience in a managerial role
• Minimum 3 years experience using Azure

Cloud Hosting Providers

• Azure

Ticket Management

• ITIL
• Familiarity with service desk tooling

System Administration

• Azure Active Directory/Entra ID
• Active Directory
• Windows Server 201x
• Linux – CentOS, AlmaLinux

Automation Tooling

• Terraform

Version Control

• Git

Desirable:

Database Administration

• MS-SQL – particularly Azure SQL Database

System Administration

Scripting

• PowerShell/Bash

The successful candidate must be able to travel regularly to either our Glasgow Office - G1 1RE, or our Edinburgh Office, EH12 5HD.
