Applications are invited for the posts of: Bank Senior Optometrists
This is an exciting opportunity to join us as a Senior Optometrists as part of a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team in a new purpose built Eye Centre to support the pre-operative assessment of new patients referred for cataract surgery and independently undertake the post-operative review of patients.
Our Ophthalmology service continues to expand and is now the largest unit in Scotland. The new Eye Centre unit has been designed around an innovative and proven patient pathway, utilizing health care assistants, ophthalmic technicians, registered nurses, optometrists and Consultant Ophthalmologists. Our out-patient department is equipped with OCT, Topography, Specular Microscope, Ultrasound and digital Slit lamps. The unit will deliver high volume cataract surgery to meet the increasing national demand for cataract surgery over the next 15 years.
The unit sits on the banks of the River Clyde and has views up towards the Finnieston crane and beyond and is situated on the left in front of the main hospital entrance.
As a centre of excellence for cataract surgery we are looking to appoint part time Senior Optometrists who also work within community optometry and /or hospital optometry, regularly assessing a wide range of eye conditions and can demonstrate a range of diverse clinical skills.
There is regular in house Continuing Education Time and a provision for study leave.
