This role is based at Diageo’s Shieldhall packaging site. Shieldhall packages a huge volume of Scotch malt whiskies, white spirits and ready to drink brands to supply over 170 countries around the world and is a key manufacturing site within the Scotch supply category. 


As a Site Assurance Officer within our hardworking team at Shieldhall you’ll play a pivotal role in the effective management and protection of all company assets across the site, thus preventing any unauthorized access to site and to prevent acts of theft, arson, vandalism and product contamination. 


You will provide essential assurances to the business through audit.  Responsible for carrying out regular quality assurance of H&S, Risk, Security, Quality, Environmental and stock accountability procedures.  



Rey responsibilities: 


  • Work with the Risk lead/Assurance Manager to achieve milestones set through departmental strategy. 


  • Completing and recording assigned daily and monthly audit checks. 


  • Maintain Security standards through implementation of departmental operating procedures and work instructions. 


  • Provide strong support to the Risk Lead across all areas of the risk, assurance and security remit. 


  • Ensuring site security by conducting random searches, scheduled patrols, and act as a superuser on CCTV operating system. 


  • Responsible for roll call during fire activations including alarm test and site evacuation. 


  • Contractor and Diageo personnel induction and access management. 


  • Effective upkeep of C-cure access management system ensuring timely actioning of access application and removal and regular audit of badge access. 


  • Supervise Health & Safety and Security arrangements during foot patrols and undertake building inspections outside normal working hours (to check for leaks and security breaches and ensure Health & Safety compliance). 


  • Attend first aid calls where required. 


  • Accurate recording and reporting of incidents/findings. 


Health and safety compliance is key and you’ll be at the forefront of making sure this is supervised alongside other Key Performance Indicators and targets including security, environmental and HMRC requirements. 


About you   




The successful candidate will understand the process of securing premises / auditing / access control. It will be bonus if you have a security background and/or are SIA trained but this is not essential. 


In addition, you’ll be able to demonstrate the following:  


  • An understanding of confidentiality and discretionary requirements when dealing with sensitive information or situations.  


  • Excellent communication skills, good attitude, and professional conduct.  


  • Solution driven individual as this role covers a variety of tasks so the ideal candidate needs to be flexible.  


  • A continuous self-Improvement mindset with a desire to learn and adapt within the role.  


  • Flexibility for shift cover during site shutdowns/sickness/annual leave absence. 


  • Full, clean UK driver’s license
