Consultant Clinical Scientist - #1701998

We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.

The shift pattern for this post is 8.45 am to 5 pm Monday to Friday and contribution to on call advice rota.

Following retirement of the current post holder, we welcome applications for a full time Consultant Clinical Scientist to join a team of 4 consultant staff and a further 7 clinical scientists within the Biochemistry Department at the Glasgow Royal Infirmary in Glasgow. The successful applicant will support the Clinical Biochemistry service across the North Glasgow Sector and will play a key strategic and clinical role in the core section of the laboratory. An interest in laboratory IQC/EQA, automation and immunoassay would be beneficial.

You will be expected to participate in all aspects of the department including reporting, clinical liaison, research and development, teaching and audit.

You will have advanced specialist knowledge and interpretive skills with significant Clinical Biochemistry experience, be HCPC registered as a Clinical Scientist and an MSc or equivalent in Clinical Biochemistry and have obtained FRCPath.
