Hours: Full-Time, 35 hours per week Monday - Friday.
Location: Hybrid, Glasgow, Stoke, Leeds or Birmingham

Successful applicants will be required to attend one of our offices once a week.

Our Opportunity:

Davies is on the lookout for an experienced Claims Handler to enhance our growing Casualty team.

This position offers a stimulating and supportive environment where the successful individual will be joining a dedicated team, providing a first-class claims handling service to major clients.

What will your day look like:

  • Investigation: Handle allocated claims, either from your desk or by referring them to a field adjuster for on-site investigation when necessary.
  • Evidence Gathering: Obtain all relevant evidence and documentation.
  • Reserve Management: Regularly review and maintain proper reserves.
  • Negotiation: Negotiate settlements within agreed authority limits.
  • Resolution: Determine appropriate actions to resolve each case.
  • Liaison: Communicate with insurers, policyholders, and brokers.
  • Reporting: Prepare detailed reports, advising on policy indemnity, legal liability, quantum, and tactics as needed.
  • Professional Correspondence: Maintain proactive communication with all parties involved.
  • Adherence to Procedures: Handle cases according to documented procedures and client requirements.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay updated on technical changes relevant to your role, including participating in company facilitated training programs

Knowledge and Abilities:

Essential:
  • Proficiency in managing Claims from cradle to grave.
  • Investigation of Liability.
  • Management of personal caseload.
  • Exceptional communication abilities across various levels.
  • Commitment to delivering outstanding customer service.
  • Collaborative team player.
  • Demonstrated adaptability and versatility.
Desirable:
  • Experience in managing Property Damage claims.
  • Familiarity with reserving strategies.
  • Knowledge of how to value injury claims.
  • Understanding of Civil Procedure Rules and the Claims Portal.
