Shift pattern for this role is Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm.
Opportunity within the Public Health Directorate
We are recruiting for the position of Equalities and Human Rights Manager within the Equalities and Human Rights (EHR) Team. The team is responsible for developing and delivering ‘A Fairer NHSGGC: Meeting the Requirements of the Equality Act (Equality Scheme)’ which includes a suite of equality outcomes and mainstream functions to meet the general duty in the Equality Act.
The team’s work to support compliance with equality legislation broadly encompasses:
- Provision of professional leadership and specialist knowledge to support policy development.
- Transforming practice through service engagement.
- Legal risk mitigation.
The post holder will provide strategic leadership, lead policy development related to NHSGGC’s equality duties and legislation, and offer expert advice to support NHS strategies, service redesign, and development. The role also involves leading aspects of team development, including developing performance measures and resource management.
Candidates should hold a Master’s degree or demonstrate equivalent ability in health policy, social policy, public health, or business administration, with experience in the inequalities or equality and diversity field. Essential experience includes:
- Leading and influencing at a high strategic level
- Policy formulation and implementation
- Contributing to team performance and management
