Wintel Engineer - #1711270

Our client Scottish Power Renewables are seeking a Wintel / Windows Engineer for a minimum 6 month contract role, although scope to extend further.

The Windows Engineer will be responsible for managing and optimizing our Windows-based infrastructure, with a particular focus on virtualization technologies, especially Nutanix. This role will also involve aspects of Operational Technology (OT), security, and operating system upgrades.

Key Responsibilities:

- Virtualization Management: Design, implement, and manage virtualization solutions using Nutanix. Ensure high availability, performance, and scalability of virtual environments.
- Windows Infrastructure: Maintain and support Windows servers and workstations, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
- Operational Technology (OT): Collaborate with OT teams to integrate and secure Windows systems within OT environments. Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.
- Security: Implement and manage security measures to protect Windows systems from threats. Conduct regular security assessments and audits.
- OS Upgrades: Plan and execute operating system upgrades and patches. Ensure minimal disruption to operations during upgrades.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to Windows systems and virtualization platforms.
- Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations, procedures, and policies.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to support business objectives and projects.
