We're looking for a results-driven professional in a role of Process Engineer to ensure safe, timely, and cost-effective product delivery while leading continuous improvement projects that enhance product, process, and plant performance. This role also supports the development and documentation of Activated Carbon processes, driving operational excellence and delivering real business value.

  • Develop extensive and detailed knowledge of products, processes, production, and evaluation methods.
  • Take ownership of Activated Carbon processes (Control plans, Failure Modes Effect analysis, Statistical process control).
  • Take ownership for continuous improvement initiatives with the Technology Manager ensuring actions are followed up closed out/completed.
  • Take ownership for monitoring key performance metrics to achieve OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness), fuel and effluent targets.
  • Take responsibility for defining Off Quality management.
  • Support the quality management system with major process audit programs, external customer complaints.
  • Support the MOC (Management of Change) process to ensure communication of any MOC issues that have impact on the quality of the product.
  • Take ownership of CAPITAL projects, completing within scope and on budget.
  • Take ownership for presenting results and conclusions to technical and management teams. Produce concise, accurate and timely reports (daily process-quality reports, milestone reports, technical project reports and plant trial reports).
  • Acquire a good, operational awareness of current HS&E regulations and product safety regulations involved in Activated Carbon manufacture and marketing. Be responsible for ensuring safe working on site and that all agreed requirements of health and safety are met.

Requirements


  • Higher education in Chemistry/Chemical Engineering.
  • Consolidated and demonstrable experience in chemical process (preferably continuous) in chemical or related industry.
  • Experience in applying quality and statistical tools to improve manufacturing performance.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation; environmental; H&S; ATEX legislation.
  • Experience in mass & energy balances.
  • Experience in process optimization; fault finding; and improvement.
  • Experience in hazard analysis and root cause methodology.
  • Experience in solids and liquid handling.
  • Knowledge of process control systems and understanding of P&I Drawings.
  • Sound understanding, and application, of statistical methodologies and analytical tools and techniques.
  • Good project planning, management, and execution.
  • Excellent critical reasoning, communication, and IT skills.
  • Team player and builds good working relationships.
