General Summary
The objective of the UK Sales Leader is to maximise aftermarket bookings and drive growth within the region whilst ensuring maximum customer intimacy and satisfaction.
Principle Duties And Responsibilities
- To lead Area Sales Managers (ASM’s) and their development to execute their Annual Operating Plan for meeting their individual targets, plans / forecasts order volumes based on potential and budgets of assigned customers within the assigned territory business development.
- Responsible for territory order entry for standard business and for identification of advanced business opportunities and engaging the resources to develop and close the advanced business.
- Create and maintain an annual territory/bookings strategy/plan to meet/exceed a year-over-year Annual Operating Plan growth trend.
- Lead Area Sales Managers to engage with install base, site visits, enquiry generation, order conversion.
- Manage and Develop team members.
- Incorporate Miller Heiman Strategic Selling Strategies or similar tools in all sales activities
- Maintain the accuracy of the entire installed machinery population, incl. operating status and planned outages, and client data in the assigned territory.
- Management of relationship of assigned key accounts for the territory.
- Manage existing and identify new key accounts in the region and participate in commercial and technical negotiations.
- Develop (pro-actively) close relationships with our agents / distributor network and key end-users within the territory.
- Support all Sales and Marketing initiatives fully.
- Provide voice of the client needs/competitive intelligence, market drivers and buying influences for the development of new product and service offerings.
- Knowledge of product and industry in addition to competitor’s product operating in the market space.
- Commercial Awareness and ability to understand technical as well as commercial risks in contracts.
- Excellent communication skills responding professionally to all inquiries and complaints and remains calm and composed when under pressure.
- Effective presentation skills, effortlessly tailoring the approach to the audience and the level of technical competence.
- Ability to feed-back market requirements into the business and drive required changes.
- Entrepreneurial, strategic, proactive, and fast to react to changing needs.
- Ability to manage a number of projects at any one time.
- Effective team player (committed, reliable, responsible, flexible, helpful, supportive, active listener / communicator).
- Committed to process and implementation of sales tools to drive results.
- Self-motivated, works independently with little supervision, positively establishes relationships and networks well through excellent interpersonal skills, communication, political awareness, and stakeholder management.
- Ability to manage and develop a direct reporting team.
- Ability to work remotely from the team and other departments.
- Ability to travel to customer across assigned territories.
- Engineering qualification is desirable
- Sales experience with similar products in the [oil & gas] [power generation] [industrial] markets
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft packages including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project
