What's the role?


Are you a dynamic and versatile Specialist Sales Account Manager with a passion for learning and the skills to nurture strong relationships and influence positive outcomes?


As a Specialist Rail Sales Account Manager, you will be the face of Hilti, the very foundation of our business and direct sales model, and part of a Specialist community within the 350+ Account Managers in Great Britain alone. This field-based role is all about forging lasting relationships with customers working on the key Rail infrastructure of the UK, within the key disciplines of Electrification, Signalling, Permanent Way and rail civil, and taking a partnership approach to support them in improving productivity, safety, and sustainability.

What does the role involve?

You will be out and about covering Scotland, particularly Edinburgh, Glasgow, Central Belt and to the North East of England meeting your customers, to understand their needs, before providing them with tailor-made solutions.


As well as demonstrating our innovative products and state-of-the-art software to your customers, you will also develop ‘focus’ customers by building relationships and uncovering new business leads.


You will be responsible for the operational, organisational and strategic account management of your sales area, fully utilising the best-in-class Salesforce CRM system.

What you need is:

  • Proven Account Manager or customer-facing B2B or B2C sales experience, gained in any industry.
  • We are also keen to speak to applicants from an Rail, Engineering, Construction or Technical background, looking to utilise their knowledge in an exciting new direction.
  • Willing and able to travel long distances to meet customers which may on occasion require stop overs.
  • Solution-oriented approach, with the ability to uncover customer pain points and needs to provide our best-suited solutions.
  • You share our values – commitment, teamwork, courage and integrity.
  • Resilience and adaptability – you will be comfortable meeting all levels of customers from a Site Operator to Managing Director.
  • Drive, curiosity and a motivated approach to achieve success and overcome challenges, with a passion to learn, develop and grow.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work autonomously to effectively manage your time and priorities.
  • A full, clean, manual UK driving license (you will make site visits to engage with customers Monday to Friday).
