Job Description
Your Role:
Major Programme & Project Delivery is accountable and responsible for the delivery of capital projects (excluding Minor New Works) and property disposals and acquisitions, operating the Acquire, Create New and Dispose processes; for all areas of the business including Housing, the Training estate and the Volunteer Estate (VE); in the UK and overseas.
Major Programmes and projects provides infrastructure project delivery input to the early development of programmes and projects. MPP also directs and advises on all infrastructure aspects of hybrid projects, including nuclear. PPD operates through a geographically dispersed organisation.
- The role is client side providing direct leadership, oversight and direction to all engineering, safety case and requirements teams within the programme.
- To act as the controlling mind within the programme for all aspects of engineering and safety case delivery – accountable for ensuring engineering and safety case deliverables are acceptable by the DA and regulators.
- Accountable for integrated delivery of all system requirements, engineering and safety case activities and deliverables within the programme.
- In conjunction with the DA, set and obtain regulatory endorsement of all appropriate engineering, safety case and requirements strategies, processes, tools, techniques and management arrangements within the programme.
- In conjunction with the DA, agree the programme nuclear baseline (AC36) for requirements, engineering and safety case staff and ensure baseline roles are demonstrably SQEP.
- In conjunction with Tranche and Commercial leads, ensure adequate engineering / safety case controlling mind, verification and validation representation within commercial delivery arrangements contracted by the programme.
- Be the senior engineering and safety case interface with programme stakeholders primarily the Design Authority, Site Operations and Regulators
- Provide strong leadership to the multi-disciplined teams across floating dock and shoreside infrastructure providing a wholistic integrated design and safety case.
- Accountable for delivery in accordance with the Euston Safety Engineering Management Plan (SEMP)
Qualifications
Essential Skills and Experience
- Familiarity in dealing with regulators (ideally nuclear or other comparable high consequence regulated environment).
- Recent successful experience in the leadership, management and delivery of multi-disciplined teams producing engineering designs, justification/substantiation and safety cases, ideally related to major infrastructure or complex engineering programmes
- Able to demonstrate considerable experience (from more than one programme) within a senior engineering leadership role leading engineering on major infrastructure programmes / complex multi-disciplined engineering programmes (preferably regulated)
- Chartered Engineer with full membership of a recognised engineering institution.
- Line management of engineering staff at chief engineer level.
Desirable Skills and Experience
- Desirable to have marine structures delivery / naval architecture experience.
Additional Information
Due to the nature of this role the successful candidate will require Security clearance. To gain this they will be required to be a Sole UK national, Hybrid working from home/Assystem Office
