Job Description
Manual Test Analyst x 2 – Glasgow and also South of Motherwell
Level - 2 to 4 years experience
Hybrid – Must be able to commit to 2 days a week in Glasgow City Centre or South of Motherwell (Must be able to drive for the second role)

Job Description:
We are seeking 2 dedicated Test Analyst’s to support the Senior Test Analyst in ensuring the quality and functionality of software applications within the department. In this role, you will help minimize application defects by performing comprehensive testing activities, contributing to the successful delivery of IT systems with high standards of quality. The role also requires a commitment to following best practices while working in a professional capacity to meet client expectations.
You will be involved in various aspects of the testing lifecycle, including test planning, execution, and sign-off, with a particular focus on User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and system testing. This position provides an opportunity to work across both Waterfall and Agile methodologies while gaining hands-on experience in an evolving, high-impact area of the business.
Key Responsibilities:
Test Planning & Execution:
o Schedule and coordinate testing activities, ensuring adequate business representation in UAT and other testing phases.
o Fully participate in the testing lifecycle, including test planning, preparation, execution, and sign-off.
o Manage test environments and prepare data as required for testing purposes.
Quality Assurance & Documentation:
o Ensure 100% compliance with audited testing procedures.
o Maintain and manage all testing documentation, including Test Specifications, Test Completion reports, Risk/Issues Logs, Testing Checklists, and Release Meeting Minutes.
o Document and report all issues identified during testing, raising observation reports and collaborating with relevant parties to ensure timely resolution.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement:
o Participate in and, when required, chair Release meetings with all relevant stakeholders to ensure proper alignment on testing progress and findings.
o Provide testing expertise in development workshops, sharing knowledge and best practices with the team.
o Assist in post-implementation checks to ensure the successful deployment of applications.
Testing Analysis & Reporting:
o Analyse Business Requirements and Functional Specifications for smaller-scale changes or developments and recommend the most effective testing methods within the given budget and timeline.
o Evaluate test results and record test specifications as needed to ensure comprehensive test coverage.
o Expedite defect resolution to ensure timely delivery of software releases.
Agile Testing & Tools:
o Apply Agile testing methods and contribute to Agile ceremonies and processes, leveraging tools such as Jira and Confluence.
o Utilise automated testing tools, such as Selenium and Appium, to enhance testing efficiency and accuracy.
System Knowledge & Technical Skills:
Testing Tools & Platforms:
o HP Quality Centre (HPALM), Jira, Confluence.
o Any experience of Automated Testing Tools: Selenium, Appium.
o XML, API, Postman
o Oracle/SQL Server or SAP Advantageous
Key Skills & Experience:
· a minimum of 2 years, hands-on experience with testing methods and tools, including Agile frameworks, Jira, and Confluence.
· Any knowledge of automated testing tools (e.g., Selenium, Appium) and manual testing procedures.
· Strong understanding of quality assurance processes and the ability to maintain detailed documentation.
· Ability to work collaboratively with both technical teams and business stakeholders to ensure smooth testing operations.
· Good communication skills, with the ability to articulate test results and findings to diverse audiences.
