Role – MAPPA Co-ordinator (Justice Services)
Location – GCHSCP, 80 Norfolk Street, Glasgow, G5 9EJ
Contract Status – Permanent

At Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership (GCHSCP) we are committed to public protection. The aim of the team is to mitigate the risk presented by individuals subject to public protection processes which involves multi-agency collaboration.
The role of the Multi Agency Public Protection Arrangements (MAPPA) Co-ordinator is both strategic and operational. MAPPA Co-ordinators play a critical role in supporting and advising the Responsible Authorities on the operation of the MAPPA within their allocated geographical area.
The MAPPA Strategic Oversight Group (SOG) will provide specific direction to the MAPPA Co-ordinator in respect of their role and responsibilities. It is expected that the role of the MAPPA Co-ordinator includes the following responsibilities:
• Support for Responsible Authorities
• Provide a central point of reference/consultancy to Responsible Authorities, duty to co-operate and other relevant agencies in in line with Memorandums of understanding
• Support the Responsible Authorities within the MAPPA region to develop policies, procedures and local guidance to support the operation of MAPPA in line with national guidance
• Support the Responsible Authorities in developing and maintaining the appropriate links between MAPPA and other public protection partnerships
• Liaise with senior partners to resolve any difficulties that adversely impact upon the effective operation of MAPPA in their area
• Work with Responsible Authorities to ensure delivery of the MAPPA annual report
• Support the Responsible Authorities in assessing training needs and co-ordinate the delivery of/access to relevant training
Candidates must have working knowledge of the MAPPA process. It is essential that applicants have operational experience, preferably at management level, of work with sex offenders and violent offenders within Social Work, Police, Scottish Prison Services, Health Service or other agencies who work directly with this client group.
Excellent analytical and administrative skills are essential, as is experience of delivering training.
Candidates should be educated to diploma or degree level or equivalent in relevant subject. Please refer to the Person Specification for full details of the required qualifications, skills, knowledge and competencies that are required for the above role.
Membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme is essential on taking up appointment. Please note successful candidates for the above role will be required to pay for their PVG Membership/or Scheme Checks.
These roles are excepted under Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exclusions and Exceptions) (Scotland) Order 2013 (as amended).
