Project Manager - FMCG / Retail experience - Global System Transformation

Location: Glasgow | Contract | Day Rate: £550 (outside IR35)

We are supporting a global transformation programme spanning multiple international markets across Retail, Food & Beverage, and Events. As part of this major initiative focused on modernising systems, processes, and data capabilities, we are seeking a seasoned Project Manager to lead critical delivery workstreams with discipline and authority.

About The Role

This role offers the opportunity to take full accountability for project delivery within a large-scale transformation effort. You will work closely with a cross-functional team including Programme Management, Business Analysts, Scrum Masters, and PMO to ensure strategic goals are met. A hands-on, structured approach and the ability to influence senior stakeholders will be essential.

Main Responsibilities

• Oversee the full project lifecycle, ensuring timely delivery against agreed objectives
• Coordinate across internal and external teams to maintain momentum and focus
• Develop and maintain robust project plans, monitoring progress and dependencies
• Lead proactive risk and issue management, escalating and resolving challenges efficiently
• Ensure consistent, high-quality communication across all project stakeholders
• Uphold strong governance and change control processes to maintain delivery discipline
  
  

Candidate Profile

• Extensive project management experience within complex, fast-paced transformation environments
• Strong background in systems implementation, preferably within the Retail, Food & Beverage, or Events sectors
• Confident working with senior stakeholders and capable of challenging constructively
• Comfortable delivering under pressure with a clear focus on results and accountability
• Skilled in agile methodologies and experienced with structured project frameworks
• Relevant project management certification (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP, AgilePM) is preferred
