Are you a registered Nurse who can demonstrate a background in Senior Clinical and Operational Management?

We are seeking a passionate and highly experienced candidate toprovide professional clinical and operational leadership in our Digital Healthcare setting providing care to the public.

As our Associate Director of Operations and Nursing, you will be directly responsible and accountable for the clinical and operational service delivery KPIs, whilst providing professional clinical and operational expertise and advice to the NHS 24 Board and the Executive Team.

As an NHS 24 Senior Management team member you will work in in partnership with the Partner Health Boards and other significant key stakeholders and sponsors.

The successful candidate will have -

  • Registered Nurse with current valid NMC registration
  • Extensive Senior Clinical and Operational Management experience within the NHS across a range of service areas.
  • Experience in leading large and diverse operations with clearly defined KPIs and performance frameworks.
  • Extensive clinical decision making skills
  • Evidence of effective change management
  • Evidence of strong leadership
  • Evidence of successful partnership working
  • Extensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards
  • Ability to think strategically, corporately and act as a team player.

Who We Are

NHS 24 is uniquely placed within Scotlands health and social care system. We provide a valued urgent care response 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and we are an integral part of the national out-of-hours care system. We provide clinical assessment and referral, health advice and information by telephone to the people of Scotland through a network of contact centres and digitally through NHS Inform, NHS 24 online and other channels. NHS 24 plays a key role within the NHS system, acting as a customer/patient gateway to the NHS in Scotland. It also supports and facilitates the development of other digitally enabled services on an ongoing basis recognising the changing health and care needs of the people of Scotland.

We employ around 2,000 staff across five main contact centres and five remote and rural locations across Scotland. Our frontline services comprise a range of multi-disciplinary healthcare professionals from nursing and pharmacy to psychological wellbeing practitioners and call handlers that are supported by a range of corporate functions.

Where We Are

Our Frontline staff are based across five regional centres Aberdeen, Dundee, South Queensferry, Cardonald and Clydebank. NHS 24 supports hybrid working, and this post can be based within any NHS 24 regional centre. The successful candidate must be within commuting distance to a regional centre to attend if required and must also be able to travel to other regional centres when requested to attend meetings, undertake training and any other activities.

As NHS 24 is a national organisation there is an expectation that the post holder will work across Scotland when required. Aspects of the role can be delivered remotely; others may require travel across Scotland. A significant part of the role is to work closely with senior staff across NHS 24 and beyond while consistently demonstrating the NHS values.
