About The Role

  • Our Risk division has big aspirations for growth over the next 3 years and beyond. We work with our clients to help them solve their biggest challenges and to do work that matters. Within our Financial Services practice, the Banking Conduct team will contribute to this growth and is looking for passionate and experienced individuals with an innovation and growth mindset to be a part of this journey.
  • The Banking Conduct team is comprised of 50 plus individuals focused on delivering large-scale risk and regulatory-driven change in wholesale and retail financial services with a focus on conduct and non-financial risks. This role is targeted at retail banking professionals. We support our clients to help make smarter and strategic risk decisions, optimise their risk and control environments, maintain customer-centricity and ultimately be a trusted risk partner in helping their business thrive and grow.
  • The role has been created due to a number of growth opportunities and successes across retail financial services markets.
  • You will be a part of the team driving the development of technology-enabled client solutions and offerings which help our retail banking clients manage their conduct risks and deliver good customer outcomes. This is a growth priority for our business, and therefore provides a unique opportunity to be at the centre of growing our retail banking conduct proposition at a time of significant change across the industry.

What Your Days Will Look Like

  • We are looking for a talented individual to help develop and drive this growth area with a focus on helping lead and build technology-enabled retail conduct propositions, services and offerings. Our ultimate goal is to take these service offerings to market. Once we have successfully developed these service offerings you will continue to play a key role supporting delivery of client engagements and undertaking ongoing business development activities.

Typical Projects In Our Team Include

  • Consumer Duty
  • Regulatory Reforms and Post-Brexit work
  • Non-financial risk transformation
  • Consumer credit and lending practices
  • Regulatory authorisations and licensing
  • Our team is based across the UK, with hubs in London, Edinburgh and Manchester.

This Role Is For You If You Have

  • Consulting experience and/or experience of leading business growth and development activity
  • FS retail conduct experience with large, complex organisations (ideally retail banks or large retail lenders)
  • Leading self and others through a specific programme of work of which you will help set the parameters (ideally in the context of risk/regulatory-driven change)
  • Development of service offerings, use cases and proof of concepts, some of which will be technology-enabled
  • Ability to understand how the use of data and technology can inform better management of conduct risks, including practical application
  • Working within financial services from a consulting, banking or regulatory perspective
  • Awareness of the impact of regulation on firms’ business models and the changes required to improve how regulatory and conduct risk is managed, including customer outcomes; and an ability to practically apply solutions
  • An appreciation of the UK regulatory conduct regime and how it will evolve under the new Consumer Duty including concepts underpinning regulatory permissions, governance and conduct risk
  • Understanding of the customer journey/experience in a regulated environment
  • Commercial awareness, sound reporting skills and the ability to work under your own initiative
