Join Barclays as a Platform Engineering Lead, where you’ll be responsible for driving the development of our internal Developer Portal. This role leverages your full-stack technical expertise to create the digital front door to our engineering ecosystem—a unified platform that centralizes access to engineering tools, documentation, and resources.

As a hands-on individual contributor, you will lead end-to-end development, from frontend interfaces to backend services and the underlying infrastructure. Your focus will be on building a cohesive technical solution that seamlessly integrates with our existing ecosystem, delivering an outstanding developer experience. You'll guide the engineering team through implementation, balancing technical excellence with practical delivery timelines.

To Be Successful In This Role, You Should Have

• Significant software engineering experience with demonstrated technical leadership
• Frontend development experience with modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Angular)
• Backend development experience with enterprise-grade technologies (ideally Spring Boot)
• Infrastructure as Code and cloud platform experience (ideally AWS)
• Familiarity with Docker and container orchestration
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across multiple teams
