Job Description
Wood is currently recruiting for a Principal Piping Engineer for a short term contract approx 4- 6 weeks and will be on a PSC basis working outside IR35. Experience in the oil and gas petrochemical industry is essential.

Responsibilities
Contributing to the delivery of Engineering excellence through:
- Executing assigned scopes of work
- Supporting and supervising task delegation to team
- Providing discipline expertise to the business
- Coaching and mentoring as delegated
- Manage and supervise direct reports
- Adhere to and comply with relevant discipline specific procedures and provide feedback for continuous improvement
- Participate in audits and incident investigations as required
- Technically competent in own discipline and actively maintains own competence according to standards and pursues continuous professional development
- Provide discipline support to the business
- Check and approve piping design documentation
- Check and approve piping engineering documentation
- Approval of PED technical files
- Utilise BP standards for pipework design and procurement
- Selection of piping materials for specific applications
- Specification of piping materials, manual valves, pipe fittings and flanges
- Completion of technical evaluations on piping materials and fittings
- Review and approval of vendor documentation and certification
- Review of PDMS/E3D model for piping and plant layout
- Review of PDMS/E3D model for clash checking
- Review of dimensional control survey data for clash checking
- Review of cloud scan survey data for clash checking
- Provide technical expertise
- Executing assigned scopes of work
Qualifications for Internal Candidates

Qualifications
- MSc, MEng or equivalent professional qualification or BSc, BEng or equivalent with extensive relevant experience
- Chartered Engineer or recognised equivalent
- Competent in own discipline to provide support to the business
- Demonstrate current knowledge with industry and technology development within discipline
- Communication in written and spoken forms
- Participate in audit and incident investigations as required
