About The Role
As a Residential Underwriter at LendInvest, you'll play a key role in assessing and approving mortgage loan applications from enquiry to completion. Your expertise in credit risk assessment, valuations, and legal due diligence will help shape responsible lending decisions while balancing commercial success and customer outcomes.

You’ll be a critical part of a collaborative, fast-paced team, working with brokers, solicitors, valuers, and case managers to deliver exceptional service.

About The Role
As a Residential Underwriter at LendInvest, you'll play a key role in assessing and approving mortgage loan applications from enquiry to completion. Your expertise in credit risk assessment, valuations, and legal due diligence will help shape responsible lending decisions while balancing commercial success and customer outcomes.

You’ll be a critical part of a collaborative, fast-paced team, working with brokers, solicitors, valuers, and case managers to deliver exceptional service.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Own the underwriting process from start to finish, ensuring an efficient and risk-conscious approach.
- Assess borrower risk, including income verification, valuations, and legal aspects.
- Engage with brokers and borrowers, providing clear and prompt decisions.
- Work closely with solicitors, valuers, and case managers to ensure smooth transactions.
- Make confident lending decisions, backed by clear rationale and aligned with our policies.
- Support and mentor case managers, helping develop their skills and knowledge.
- Contribute to efficiency improvements that maintain strong risk management while streamlining processes.
- A confident and resilient underwriter who can build strong relationships with stakeholders.
- Sound judgement and attention to detail, with the ability to spot risks early.
- Experience handling high-volume workflows, with strong prioritisation skills.
- A deep understanding of Treating Customers Fairly (TCF), Conduct Risk, and Consumer Duty.
- Strong technical knowledge of credit referencing, anti-fraud systems, and land registry documents.
- Substantial residential underwriting experience, ideally within specialist lending.
- CeMAP qualification (preferred but not essential).
