Job Specification: Temporary Finance Assistant – 6 month fixed term


Reporting to:    Head of Finance (Fiona Hughes)


Contract:            Fixed-Term (6 months), Full-Time (40 hrs)


Location:            Hybrid — office based work in either Dundonald or Glasgow, up to 2 days from home


Start Date:         ASAP


Salary:                Competitive, based on experience

Purpose of the Role


To provide accurate, timely, and professional support to the Finance team. You will play an important role in the day-to-day financial administration of the business, working closely with the Head of Finance and wider team to ensure the smooth running of our financial processes.


Key Responsibilities


·       Process purchase and sales ledger transactions with a high degree of accuracy


·       Record daily bank transactions


·       Credit control – identify overdue accounts and work directly with customers to ensure timely payment


·       Preparation of payment runs ensuring purchase invoices are paid on a timely basis


·       Reconcile supplier accounts and liaise with vendors to resolve discrepancies


·       General administrative duties across finance and HR


What we’re looking for


Essential:


·       Experience in a finance or accounts assistant role


·       Good working knowledge of Excel and accounting software


·       Excellent attention to detail and a proactive, methodical approach


·       Clear, friendly communicator, comfortable liaising with internal teams, suppliers and customers


·       Self-motivated, good time-management and comfortable working independently


Desirable:


·       Experience using an ERP system (Epicor)
