My client are a long established, family owned and highly successful electrical & mechanical services contractor based in Glasgow.Due to the increased success and with several large projects ongoing in the region of £7million, They are keen to expand the Estimating division.

My client are seeking an Estimator with an electrical bias to join our team and lead a division of 2 full time Estimators. This new role will demand autonomy, excellent commercial awareness as well as experience gained from an electrical background over a minimum of 5 years.

The Role- Preparing and producing detailed tender bids and costing estimates for commercial projects.- Attending and leading pre, mid and post tender meetings, building strong working relationships with suppliers, contractors and clients.- Providing support, guidance and management to the team of 2 Estimators to support career development.- Engagement with suppliers and contractors to obtain competitive quotations for materials, labour and bespoke services.- Day to day management and oversight of the full tender process from start to finish and full autonomy to make considered decisions for the business.Person Specification- Ability to work collaboratively with the team and external suppliers and contractors- Excellent commercial awareness built over electrical career- Minimum 5 years electrical estimating experience- Diligent and efficient with excellent attention to detail- Good communicator and highly organised- Ability to manage own workload as well as support 2 team members with queries- Ability to make clear and considered decisions- Willing and able to work as part of a team with personal skills to promote good relationships and a friendly working environment.- Computer literate, experience of Estimating software beneficial.- Previous management experience with a tailored leadership approach desirable but not essential.

QualificationsThe ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years’ experience from an electrical estimating background. Formal qualifications are not necessary, although an NC/HNC/HND or similar in a building services related qualification would be considered an advantage. A proven track record in a similar position is however, considered essential.
