Backend Game Developer (Python) Location: Remote (within Europe) Full-Time | Flexible Hours | Permanent Up to £65k An independent games studio is looking for an experienced Backend Developer to join their fully remote team.
The company specialises in high-quality online slot games for a global audience and is expanding their development team with someone who can take ownership of server-side game logic from initial setup through to live launch. Key ResponsibilitiesBuild and maintain server-side components that power real-money online games, with a strong focus on game logic. Collaborate with front-end engineers, game designers, and mathematicians to deliver fully integrated, high-performing gameplay features.
Optimise performance and scalability to support high user loads. Write clean, testable code and contribute to CI/CD workflows. Stay informed on industry trends and proactively suggest improvements to systems and architecture.
Requirements3+ years of experience in backend development, ideally in the gaming or gambling sector. Proficiency in Python and experience building game logic or high-throughput backend services. Understanding of probability and statistics as applied to game mechanics.
Familiarity with secure server development and performance optimisation. Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently in a remote-first environment. Tech Stack & ToolsPython (core language)Git for version control
