PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £29,000 - £34,500 per annum depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

BBC Sport Scotland are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and experienced PC/PA to join their busy department. The successful candidate will be working across this multi-platform department - spanning Radio, TV, and Online content. Working Tuesday-Saturday across foreign broadcast sends, and PA’ing on Sportscene live output on a Saturday. The successful candidates will provide logistical and administration support to the different production teams across the output, ensuring delivery on time and within budget. The successful candidate must be able to work on their own initiative, be proactive, and work well as a part of the different teams/genres. Reporting to a Production Manager, you'll work in partnership with editorial colleagues to deliver outstanding, multi-platform content that BBC Sport Scotland is renowned for, by providing creative ways to realise editorial ambitions within operational and financial constraints.

Your Key Responsibilities And Impact

  • Providing administrative support to the production teams, as and when required, depending on team structures.
  • Contributing to, and helping to implement, practical actions to reduce environmental impact throughout production.
  • Responsible for assisting the Production Manager (or equivalent) in identifying and sourcing appropriate resource and location requirements for the production at the earliest possible stage.
  • Applies specialist skills to productions, e.g. live gallery skills and script supervision, where appropriate.
  • Responsible for preparing (or contributing to the preparation of), managing, setting and monitoring of production budgets (or elements of), and for forecasting and reporting, where required. May also assess the financial viability of content ideas that may arise during productions.

Essential Criteria

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Knowledge and experience in end to end multi-platform production process. Across Radio, TV and Online production deliverables.
  • Proven experience of foreign filming/broadcast, across TV and Radio.
  • Demonstrable experience of rights procedures – across TV and Online production.
  • Thorough knowledge of BBC systems – MyBusiness, Silvermouse, Transport and Travel etc.
  • PA skills
