Property Fraud Claims Investigator – Salary circa £39,000 (DOE)

Location: Glasgow/Perth


We are looking for a Fraud Investigator who has a background in property insurance claims handling and fraud investigation or has been in an insurance fraud prevention type role previously. If you have a good understanding of building pathology, we would love to hear from you! This role will involve investigating, engaging with customers and third parties to assist with evidence gathering.



A bit about the job:


The role will be supporting property claims. As the Fraud Claims Investigator, you will review potentially fraudulent claims that have been referred from a variety of sources, by appropriately investigating potential fraudulent claims and support our genuine customers claims being settled as quickly as possible. Primarily the claims you will review will be referred from the wider buildings frontline and network suppliers. The role will entail investigating and validate residential and commercial property claims in line with policy cover, philosophies, and standards.


You will deal with customer demand so must have effective telephony skills and be able to show initiative, making quick decisions when necessary. Along with managing your own time whilst working as a team to maintain a caseload of active investigations.



Skills and experience we’re looking for:


  • Have a thorough knowledge of the insurance buildings industry related to personal and commercial property.
  • Good technical knowledge and experience of commercial and personal insurance claims and the application of commercial and personal wordings including material damage and consequential loss claims.
  • A sound understanding of buildings pathology for both personal and commercial insurance claims.
  • Experience of insurance claims fraud investigations and possible outcomes of investigations.
  • The ability to effectively manage personal workload.
