The Role
This role has been developed as an integral part of the vaccination service and as part of the multidisciplinary team, the role will provide highly specialist advice and clinical care in support of the delivery of Immunisations across NHS Lanarkshire.
This role will have the autonomy to act and accept responsibility and accountability for their actions, characterised by a level of decision making based on the highly specialist knowledge and understanding within the sphere of vaccination delivery, with particular scope of Travel vaccination delivery.
This role will work alongside Public Health colleagues and the senior clinical team within vaccinations to be an expert source of advice and clinical decision making as part of that senior clinical team.
Additional Information Specific to the Role
The post holder will have specific areas of delivery across the spectrum of immunisation services, with a key focus and expertise in Travel Vaccination and supporting senior clinical review process as part of MDT. In conjunction with the MDT and management team, the post holder will support the development and delivery of travel vaccination service within the wider Immunisation Service.

This role will be based in Vaccination Programme department within Muirhead Clinic .
Working pattern for this role: Between 8 am and 6pm, however there may be requirements to work over 7 days between the hours or 8 am and 8pm.

- Registered Healthcare practitioner with valid UK Registration (NMC / HCPC)
- Educated to/working towards/operating at Masters Level
- Post graduate* expertise within speciality / area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safety, effectively and efficiently. *This may include Independent and supplementary prescribing where relevant to the role, legal framework for the practitioner and defined service need.
- Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality.
- Advanced Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies and procedures associated with the speciality/area of practice ensuring that the level of expertise can be utilised to deliver leadership within speciality.
- Evidence of application of advanced practice skills in speciality and applying clinical judgement.
- Evidence of further developed knowledge and experience in management and/or leadership.
- Further education/evidence of Continuous Professional Development in area of speciality including study days/courses/post graduate qualification
It would be great if you also have
- Non-medical prescribing and Clinical assessment Post graduate qualification in travel medicine or equivalent.
- TREC
- Experience of immunisations and/or within travel vaccinations
