The Vacancy
We currently have an exciting opportunity to join us as an M365 Lead within our Digital Workplace team on a full-time basis in our Glasgow Office.
The role holder will work closely with other Leads in the Digital Workplace Team and across the Core IT community and wider firm.
The role is 40:60 hybrid, with 2 days in the Glasgow office. Occasional travel to our other UK offices will be required.
What will your role look like?
The Digital Workplace Team is responsible for the firm’s M365 infrastructure and applications. The M365 Lead is a highly technical, senior role in the Digital Workplace Team, providing leadership for a team of 3 engineers and working closely with the Digital Workplace Manager to set, review and deliver our technology strategy.
The M365 Lead will support the full range of Microsoft solutions and will be a subject matter expert and technical escalation point, providing technical mentoring and guidance to less experienced colleagues. They are responsible for the day-to-day work of the M365 engineers in the Digital Workplace Team, providing guidance and feedback to help manage support requests and technology delivery projects.

They are responsible for the day-to-day work of the M365 engineers in the Digital Workplace Team, providing guidance and feedback to help manage support requests and technology delivery projects.
Though this is a varied role, your key tasks will include:
- Lead the delivery and management of technical implementations and champion M365 solutions where relevant
- Influence the strategic roadmap for M365 cloud tools across the firm, including M365 Copilot products
- Provide deep technical guidance and support to colleagues across Core IT and the wider firm, ensuring the implementation of best practices
- Stay informed about planned updates by Microsoft, and plan and manage for business impact
- Implement and enforce security and compliance measures, including the configuration and management of Microsoft Purview solutions, to protect data within M365 and on premise, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards
- Maintain and improve compliance/regulatory controls and requirements, while facilitating internal and external audit processes in relation to IT infrastructure
- Design and lead performance monitoring of M365 services, ensuring optimum configurations for performance, scalability and cost-effectiveness, and swift issue resolution
- Advise and implement changes to licensing based on evolving organisational needs
- In conjunction with other leaders in the team, advance the integration of M365 with other organisational systems and applications, in line with business requirements
- Ensure data integrity, availability and accessibility across the M365 estate
- Lead the delivery of technical projects in line with agreed timescales and budgets
- Relevant certifications such as Microsoft 365 Certified: Administrator Expert, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Microsoft Teams Application Developer
- Subject matter expert across the M365 platform, including implementation, configuration, support and administration
- Experience of administering Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Entra and Active Directory, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint including Advanced Management, Syntex, and Microsoft Purview
- Advanced automation skills using languages such as MS PowerShell
- Experience of building SPFx web parts and leveraging Microsoft Graph to integrate M365 services
- Experience of Azure DevOps tools and services, including cognitive services and migrations
- Single sign-on design and implementation
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices, particularly within M365 and its associated tools
- Self-motivated with analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Able to articulate technical concepts efficiently with senior stakeholders
- Strong documentation skills to maintain comprehensive records of configurations, policies and procedures
- Proven people leadership experience
