The Role


We have an exciting opportunity for a Reward Specialist to join our People Directorate


This is a fantastic role for someone with an interest in reward to contribute to the development and delivery of effective and consistent pay, benefits, and job evaluation practices across the organisation. Whether you already have experience in reward or are looking to transition from a generalist HR data-focused role, we welcome applicants from a range of backgrounds.


As a Reward Specialist, you’ll support a broad range of activities, including data analysis, job evaluation, pay benchmarking, and the delivery of the annual reward cycle. You’ll work closely with colleagues across our People function and the wider organisation to ensure our reward policies and processes are fair, transparent and aligned with business needs.


You’ll be joining a purpose-driven organisation that values integrity, collaboration and continuous improvement — and where your work will help shape a positive employee experience for colleagues across SLC.


What you bring:


  • Knowledge of current legislation and regulations impacting on reward practices and the ability to provide advice and guidance on best practice.
  • Ability to lead, manage and deliver on multiple tasks and deadlines utilising a range of direct and indirect resources
  • Ability to manage complex issues and quickly evaluate a situation, including risk assessment
  • and propose a course of action
  • Extensive experience in a progressive People / HR Department in similar role, including providing advice to managers/employees on a wide range of people issues to a complex level.
  • CIPD Qualified or relevant comparable experience
  • Experience of working across and managing multiple projects alongside BAU activities.
  • Experience of working with and handling highly sensitive and personal data, in particular in adherence to GDPR.
  • Experience of delivering and reviewing a total rewards package.
  • Experience of job evaluation and benchmarking.
