Where will you be working?

We help our clients safeguard the water supply, improve environmental performance and manage demand for future generations. We enhance and extend asset life, ensuring compliance with water quality and environmental standards. This role will be within our MEICA and capital maintenance team. Our Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control & Automation (MEICA) experts offer a one-stop solution, including ongoing operation and maintenance services.

What will you be doing?

You'll assist in the installation or refurbishment of; ductile, carbon steel and stainless steel pipework and fittings typically in the range 100mm to 700mm diameter; PVC and ABS pipework and fittings typically in the range 10mm to 150mm diameter. You'll have experience in installation and maintenance of pumps and valves etc experienced working with Drinking and Waste Water treatment processes.

You'll have understanding of 240v and 415v electrical systems and able to fault find and repair on various pieces of mechanical equipment.

What You’ll Bring

  • Preferably have a recognised apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering plus the satisfactory completion of a relevant NVQ level 3 or equivalent
  • In the absence of an NVQ or equivalent qualification applicants should have relevant trade experience working in the water / waste water industry
  • Proficient in the proper use of engineering hand tools, portable power tools and basic machine tools
  • The ability to understand general arrangement and detailed drawings
  • Good Working knowledge of Safety, Health Environment and Quality Procedures
