NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.

This is an exciting time to join an established team of AHP advanced practitioners working in the NHSGGC wide The AHP Long Covid Service. This is a small team of occupational therapy and physiotherapy Advanced Practitioners who work across the whole of NHSGGC taking most referrals from primary care and secondary care colleagues in respiratory, cardiology and rehabilitation services. The service model focuses on brief interventions using supported self-management techniques. This is a hybrid model with online interventions, use of digital resources and face to face individual sessions as required.

We are looking for an AHP who has excellent leadership skills and also understanding and skills in service evaluation, use of quality improvement tools and a proven track record in project management.

This service is in its final year of Scottish Government funding and as such moving into the final phase of the project. The successful post holder will have a clear understanding of advanced practice, how AHPs contribute to successful supported self-management of this novel long term condition.

In addition to this the post holder will lead on the collation, interrogation and analysis of a large amount of service and patient data gathered during the project. With a view to producing a final report with clear recommendations on next steps and key learning points that will be shared nationally to inform the management of long term conditions as we reform the NHS.

The post holder will have the ability to demonstrate collaborative leadership approach that maximises the input of AHP advanced practitioners while also ensuring the support and wellbeing of the team.
