NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.
The shift pattern for this post is Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm.
In conjunction with the management team contribute to and deliver a comprehensive Addictions Service in partnership with Primary Care and Mental Health practitioners as part of a multi-disciplinary team within the prison setting and to deliver a comprehensive blood borne virus service.
To operate as part of an extensive multi-disciplinary team, providing the role of the Senior Practitioner Nurse to undertake assessments, provide and evaluate a range of health interventions, to meet prisoner healthcare needs and contribute to the wider continuous development of prison healthcare services.
Demonstrate knowledge, skills and understanding of addiction & BBV issues and treatment options to provide clinical guidance to all staff on matters relating to health and wellbeing.
The post holder carries continuing responsibility for the assessment of care needs, the development, implementation and evaluation of programs of care and the setting of standards of care within a secure environment.
This post can be moved between the three prison sites if needed to meet exigencies of the service/
