We have two posts with one full time 37 hours and one part time 18.5 hours per week.

Please note the salary is pro rata for part time hours.

Based at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Institute of Neurological Sciences. The post will support the work of the regional neuropsychology service providing highly specialised care to patients referred for psychological assessment and treatment in the context of acute, chronic and degenerative pathology of the central nervous system.

Working across regional services you will be part of a team of clinical/neuropsychologist working to support multidisciplinary team working in regional neuroscience services, major trauma, neurorehabilitation, spinal injuries and Quarries Epilepsy Services. The post has the benefit of working closely with a wide range of professionals including medical, nursing and AHP staff.

The post holder will be part of the regional neuropsychology 8B rotation which operates an annual rotation into different services within the regional clinical portfolio. The post holder will benefit from the opportunity to work in a range of assessment and therapy services delivery highly specialist neuropsychological care.

Owning to the high prevalence of diagnostic neuropsychology and the need for flexibility in service provision across a range of neuropsychology settings the post holder must have a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and be registered with the HCPC. Advanced knowledge of neuropsychological assessment tools and their interpretation would be desirable. Experience of working in a neuropsychology/rehabilitation service, either in qualified experience or as part of the specialist placement in the DClinPsy degree, would be an advantage.

This post will be attractive to clinical psychologists with an interest in physical health and neuropsychology as the breadth of work will include diagnostics, psychological therapies, family work, and MDT consultations within a range of neuroscience MDT pathways including neuro-oncology, Functional neurology, epilepsy surgery, awake craniotomy, specialist movement disorders and deep brain stimulation.

We would encourage candidates with knowledge and experience within acute physical health setting to apply owing to the range of skills required for this post.

The Neuropsychology service has close links with University of Glasgow and are active participants in CPD and research is encouraged.

The post holder will provide supervision to Doctorate Trainees seeking specialist placement and major research projects within regional neuropsychology services.

The successful applicant will be dynamic, organised, have a desire and drive to participate in service development, show flexible regarding roles and tasks, and respond to the changing needs of the service. Although the post is primarily based in the Institute of Neurological Sciences the post holder will also be expected to work flexibly across regional neuropsychology services (neurology, neurosurgery, neurorehabilitation, spinal and prosthetics) based on service need.
