Java Developer | Glasgow (hybrid) | 12-month Contract

Global investment bank is looking for an experienced Java Developer to join their Products IT Team in Glasgow. This front-office role supports the global equity swaps business, working on a project to modernise the current trading platform.

You will collaborate with a global team to build robust, scalable systems that solve complex problems at the intersectionof finance and technology.

Previous Banking Experience Is Beneficial But Not Essential.

Java Developer Key Skills & Experience:

• Strong Java (J2SE), Spring, JUnit, and JMS
• Proficient in SQL and experience with Sybase or DB2
• Unix/Linux scripting and some Perl knowledge
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Understanding of message-based architectures and object-oriented design
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Interest in learning the equity derivatives business
  
  

Desirable

• Experience with database performance tuning
• Familiarity with equity derivative products
• Exposure to agile development environments
  
  

This is a 12-month contract offering hybrid working and a competitive day rate around £500 (inside ir35).
