This role will involve ensuring robust security controls, compliance with industry frameworks, and supporting secure system design and operations.

Role Overview:We are seeking an experienced Security Engineer to join a dynamic and security-focused team delivering critical projects within a regulated environment. This role will involve ensuring robust security controls, compliance with industry frameworks, and supporting secure system design and operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain security controls aligned with ISO 27001 and NIST frameworks
- Support and manage security accreditation processes
- Monitor, detect, and respond to threats using SIEM tools (e.g. Splunk)
- Configure and manage IDS/IPS systems, firewalls, and DLP solutions
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and security testing
- Perform risk assessments and ensure compliance with security standards
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, policies, and SOPs
- Support incident response activities and ongoing security operations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed security best practices
- Strong knowledge of ISO 27001, NIST, and security best practices
- Proven experience in security accreditation and compliance processes
- Hands-on experience with:
- SIEM tools (e.g. Splunk)
- IDS/IPS, firewalls, and DLP solutions
- Experience in vulnerability management and penetration testing concepts
- Solid understanding of risk assessment methodologies
- Strong documentation skills, including creation of SOPs and technical artefacts
- Experience within incident response or security operations environments
- Experience with cloud security (Azure, Databricks)
- Knowledge of OWASP, application security, or penetration testing
- Previous experience working on government or public sector projects
- Fully remote within the UK
