Anderson Knight are delighted to be partnering with our client to recruit an ambitious and commercially minded Senior Accountant to join their Operational Finance team in Glasgow on a 12-month fixed-term contract.
Reporting directly to the Financial Controller with a dotted line to the CFO, this is a highly visible role offering the opportunity to support a dynamic and innovative organisation while delivering meaningful financial insight to senior leadership. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving performance, enhancing reporting processes and supporting strategic decision-making across the business.
This position is ideally suited to a proactive finance professional who thrives on continuous improvement, enjoys partnering with stakeholders, and can turn financial data into actionable business insight.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts in line with reporting deadlines.
- Deliver insightful financial analysis, commentary, and actionable recommendations to senior leadership.
- Prepare and reconcile balance sheet accounts across the group.
- Support the preparation of monthly board packs, including detailed variance analysis and performance reporting.
- Deliver meaningful KPI reporting and operational insight to support business performance and strategic objectives.
- Support the preparation of cash flow forecasts and wider financial planning activities.
- Build strong working relationships across operational, commercial, and sales functions, acting as a trusted finance partner.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across finance processes, controls, systems, and reporting efficiency.
- Identify opportunities for automation, enhanced reporting, and operational efficiencies.
- Mentor and support Assistant Accountants, helping to develop capability within the finance team.
- Support direct and indirect tax activities across the wider group structure.
About You
- Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, CA, or CIMA).
- Previous experience within a management accounting or finance business partnering environment.
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to translate financial information into clear business insight.
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills with the confidence to engage senior leadership.
- Proactive and solutions-focused mindset with a passion for continuous improvement and process optimisation.
- Motivated, adaptable, and capable of operating effectively within a fast-paced environment.
