Advisory-Focused Role | Full Client Ownership

This is an exciting opportunity for a Private Client Tax Manager to join a highly regarded professional services firm, taking on a genuinely advisory-led role with full ownership of a diverse client portfolio.  This position offers the chance to move beyond pure compliance and step into a role where you will lead on complex advisory work, build long-term client relationships, and play an active role in developing junior team members and contributing to business growth.  It’s a great opportunity for someone who enjoys combining technical expertise with client interaction, commercial thinking, and people development.

The Role In this role, you will take ownership of a portfolio of private clients, delivering high-quality advisory services across areas such as inheritance tax, capital gains tax, trusts, estates, and succession planning.

You will act as a trusted advisor to clients, building strong, long-term relationships and becoming their main point of contact for complex personal tax matters.

You will also:
  • Lead and deliver complex private client advisory work end-to-end
  • Manage and develop client relationships, providing proactive, trusted advice
  • Identify opportunities for new advisory work and contribute to business development
  • Oversee multiple assignments, ensuring high-quality delivery and strong client service
  • Review and sign off complex compliance work where required
  • Collaborate with wider teams to deliver joined-up client solutions
  • Mentor and support junior team members in their technical and professional development
  • Take responsibility for engagements from initial opportunity through to delivery and billing
About You To be successful in this role, you will have:
  • Strong experience in private client tax within a professional services environment
  • A clear focus on advisory work, alongside compliance experience
  • Professional qualification (CTA, ACA/CA, ATT, STEP or equivalent)
  • Experience managing client relationships directly and confidently
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects
  • Experience mentoring or supporting junior team members
  • A commercial mindset with the ability to spot and develop opportunities
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence working with clients
  • The ability to work independently and take full ownership of your portfolio
Exposure to international tax matters and UK/Ireland cross-border work would be advantageous but not essential.
