We are searching for a Engineering Geologist to join us here at AECOM within our Ground Engineering team. You will be responsible for supporting investigations, interpretation and design across transport, water, energy and development projects.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a individual looking to gain broad exposures to ground investigation, geohazard assessment and geotechnical design, with structured support, mentoring and progression.

Here’s what you’ll do:

  • Apply your common ground investigation knowledge on projects when required
  • Undertake the ground interpretations and soil parameter assessments and ground investigation data management software (e.g. Open Ground) would be advantageous
  • Apply your legacy mining risk assessment, investigation and remediation experience when necessary
  • To be able to undertake rock slope and landslide (including debris flow) inspections, risk assessments and remediation
  • Undertake geotechnical design (e.g. soil and rock slopes, earthworks, anchors)
  • Provide geotechnical analysis when required, experience in design software packages would be advantageous
  • Produce drawings, risk assessments, specifications and design reports

Here’s what we’re looking for:

  • BSc/MSc in Geology, Engineering Geology or Earth Science.
  • MSc in Engineering Geology or Geotechnical Engineering is desirable.
  • Progress toward Chartered Geologist (CGeol) is advantageous; we provide full support toward chartership.
  • Clean driving license.
  • Willingness to travel within the UK and Ireland.
  • Familiarity/knowledge of relevant Eurocode and British Standards. Any experience with standards and processes in a specialised fields (e.g. highways, railways) is welcome.
