Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Electrician role based in central belt. The Electrician will install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment across a range of commercial, residential, and industrial properties. Daily tasks include reading and interpreting technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and specifications; carrying out planned and reactive maintenance; and performing fault-finding and troubleshooting. The role involves testing and inspecting electrical installations for safety and compliance, completing accurate documentation and reports, and working closely with other trades and project teams to deliver high-quality, timely work. The Electrician will be expected to follow all health and safety procedures, use appropriate PPE, and uphold Valley Group Limited’s standards of professional conduct and customer service.
Qualifications
- Strong practical skills in Electricity and Electrical Work, including installation, wiring, and safe isolation.
- Proficiency in Maintenance & Repair and Troubleshooting of electrical systems, equipment, and controls.
- Understanding of Electrical Engineering principles relevant to building services and M&E environments.
- Relevant electrical qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, recognized electrician apprenticeship, or similar).
- Up-to-date knowledge of electrical regulations and standards (e.g., BS 7671 or equivalent) and inspection/testing best practices.
- Demonstrated commitment to health and safety, risk assessment, and safe systems of work.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Effective communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Full, valid driver’s license and willingness to travel locally as required.
- Previous experience in facilities management, construction, or refurbishment environments is beneficial.
