Aspen Medical is inviting expressions of interest from experienced Point-of-Care Testing / Laboratory Support Technicians for potential future deployed medical facility opportunities in Europe.

These opportunities may suit laboratory, nursing, paramedic, biomedical science or clinical support personnel with experience in point-of-care testing, sample handling, rapid diagnostics, infectious disease testing, occupational health screening or deployed healthcare support.

Any future role will be subject to client award, contract execution, operational requirements, credentialing where applicable, medical fitness, security screening, site access approval and final mobilisation approval.


Potential Responsibilities

The Point-of-Care Testing / Laboratory Support Technician may be required to support:

  • Point-of-care diagnostic testing within agreed scope.
  • ECGs, urinalysis, glucose testing and rapid infectious disease testing.
  • Sample handling and basic clinical diagnostic workflows.
  • PCR or other diagnostic platform support where authorised and trained.
  • Laboratory consumable checks, expiry tracking and stock readiness.
  • Infection prevention, biosafety and waste handling procedures.
  • Documentation of test results and communication to authorised clinical personnel.
  • Quality control, calibration and maintenance records.
  • Medical screening support where required.
  • Secure handling of laboratory assets and sensitive health information.


Essential Requirements

Applicants should have:

  • Recognised clinical, laboratory, nursing, paramedic, biomedical science, healthcare assistant or comparable healthcare qualification from an EU country, Norway or the UK.
  • Experience with point-of-care testing, sample handling or clinical diagnostics.
  • Ability to follow SOPs, infection prevention controls and documentation requirements.
  • Strong English language capability.
  • Ability to work in a deployed, multinational and operationally controlled environment.
  • Ability to complete credentialing where applicable, background checks, medical fitness screening, security requirements and site access procedures.


Desirable Experience

Military laboratory, field hospital, expeditionary or remote-site experience is desirable. PCR platform experience, infectious disease testing, respiratory or gastrointestinal testing, occupational health screening, quality control or audit documentation experience would be advantageous.


Eligibility: Due to anticipated operational and client requirements, applicants must be nationals of, or otherwise eligible for deployment from, EU countries, Norway or the United Kingdom.
