6-Month Contract

Based in Glasgow - Hybrid

Rate: £600 per day

A leading IT organisation is seeking an experienced Operations Team Lead to oversee a high-performing technical team, combining strong hands-on expertise with leadership, coordination, and stakeholder engagement. This role is suited to someone who wants to stay technically involved while taking ownership of delivery, priorities, and team performance across both operational support and project activity.

You will act as a key point of contact for the wider technical function, ensuring stability of live services while driving improvements, remediation work, and cross-functional initiatives. The role requires someone who can balance BAU pressures with structured delivery and clear communication across technical teams, management, and third-party suppliers.

Operations Team Lead Responsibilities:

• Lead and coordinate the technical team across BAU and project delivery
• Ensure stability, performance, and availability of core services
• Oversee incident, change, and problem management activity
• Drive remediation and service improvement initiatives
• Plan and prioritise workload across the team
• Engage with stakeholders to align delivery with business requirements
• Manage vendor and third-party activities where required
• Provide escalation support and technical guidance to engineers

Operations Team Lead Requirements:

• Strong background in enterprise technical environments with exposure to networking, systems, and security
• Hands-on experience across enterprise networking, security, and infrastructure technologies
• Previous experience in a Team Lead, Senior Engineer, or equivalent leadership role
• Proven ability to manage BAU and project delivery in parallel
• Strong understanding of ITSM processes including incident, change, and problem management
• Experience working in complex enterprise environments with competing priorities
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including senior leadership exposure
• Ability to remain technically credible while operating in a leadership and coordination role

For this role you will need to be onsite in central Glasgow 2 days per week.
