Logjec HR/Payroll Consultancy & Recruitment
iTrent Payroll Implementation Manager & Specialist

Permanent · Hybrid — based from Belfast, Newcastle, Leeds or Glasgow ·

£40,000 – £65,000 depending on level

Are you an iTrent payroll professional who wants to put your payroll processing, implementation and project experience to work on high-profile client engagements? We're recruiting two permanent, broad-scope roles with a market-leading, globally connected professional services firm growing its UK payroll implementation practice — one at manager level, one hands-on specialist level — across four UK hubs with genuine hybrid flexibility.

Two roles, one team

Both roles sit in the same fast-growing UK payroll implementation team and share the same hands-on remit — onboarding new clients onto a market-leading managed payroll platform (iTrent), from requirements through data migration, parallel and first-live runs, to go-live and handover. The difference is seniority: the Manager role adds delivery ownership, team development and commercial/budget responsibility; the Specialist role is the same hands-on work without the managerial piece.

Role 1 — Implementation Manager

Senior · includes team leadership

Role 2 — Implementation Specialist

Hands-on · no line management

Salary: £55,000 – £65,000

Salary: £40,000 – £47,000

Experience: 5+ years' UK payroll

Experience: 3+ years' UK payroll

Scope: Owns client implementation delivery, plus all of the hands-on work

Scope: Hands-on implementation and payroll-systems delivery

Team / commercial: Develops junior team members; prepares fee & budget detail

Team / commercial: Focus on delivery, configuration and data — no managerial duties

What you'll be doing (both roles)

•    Work with clients to understand their payroll needs and shape the requirements that keep each implementation on time and on quality.

•    Coordinate data migration, parallel runs and first-live runs with the client and internal teams.

•    Apply hands-on iTrent payroll processing experience — gross-to-net, PAYE, NI, pensions, statutory pay, RTI and compliance — to build and validate client payrolls.

•    Develop and advise on bespoke financial reports, such as general ledger reports, and use data analysis to assure payroll accuracy at go-live.

•    Work with the service delivery team to ensure a smooth handover to the business-as-usual team.

Manager role — additional responsibilities

•    Establish the plan and manage delivery of the client implementation project to hit target dates.

•    Support and develop more junior members of the team.

•    Prepare fee and budget details and own the commercial side of delivery.

What we're looking for

•    Hands-on UK payroll experience — 3+ years for the Specialist role, 5+ years for the Manager role.

•    iTrent experience (required), with strong payroll processing knowledge.

•    Experience of payroll implementations in a high-volume environment.

•    Project and time management skills — balancing multiple priorities, importance, urgency and dependencies (project ownership for the Manager role).

•    Solid grasp of payroll compliance and legislation, including AE, RTI and the Apprenticeship Levy.

•    Strong data analysis skills and the ability to problem solve and build bespoke client solutions.

•    A payroll qualification such as CIPP is preferred, but not essential.

Why these roles

•    Permanent, broad-scope roles ideal for candidates who want to combine iTrent payroll processing, implementation/project delivery and data analysis in one role.

•    Genuinely flexible hybrid working from Belfast, Newcastle, Leeds or Glasgow.

•    High-profile clients, a growing practice with real momentum, and a clear development path — including a step up from Specialist to Manager.

•    An inclusive, supportive culture and world-class training.
