As we continue to grow, we are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Financial Controller to join our dynamic team.
Job summary
The Financial Controller will be responsible for overseeing all financial and accounting operations. This includes managing the financial reporting, analysis, reporting and ledgers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to drive financial performance in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of financial management, including accounting, financial reporting and budgeting.
- Develop and implement financial strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company objectives.
- Prepare monthly management accounts in a timely manner providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
- Manage cash flow, including accounts receivable and payable ledgers.
- Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost reduction and revenue / margin enhancement.
- Coordinate with external accountants, and ensure timely completion of statutory reporting.
- Liaise with IT development recommending improvements in management information and internal reporting.
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll, taxes, and other financial obligations.
- Supervise and mentor the finance assistant.
Experience / Qualifications
- Degree or similar qualification in Accounting, ICAS or ACCA
- 3-5 years of experience in financial management
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and budgeting.
- Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Job Type: Full-time Monday to Friday
Pay: £competitive
Location: There is the opportunity to work from home but we anticipate the role being 4 days office based per week.
